John Bradford has over thirty years experience of working with children and college students; he has worked as a lecturer in education, as a school principal/head teacher, and is founder of the 'World of Dyslexia' websites. He is editor of 'Dyslexia Teacher', 'Dyslexia Parents Resource', 'Dyslexia Adults Link', 'Dyslexia College', 'Dyslexia Online Magazine', and the 'Dyslexia Online Journal'. He is also Course Director of the Certificate in the Teaching of Children with Dyslexia. John Bradford is a pioneer in the field of distance assessment of dyslexia, and works with children and adults with dyslexia, dyspraxia, Attention Deficit and other learning difficulties.
Thank you for the report. It was very detailed. The amount of information given on aides and support was very extensive, unlike most educational psychologists' reports I have seen which contain mostly scales of tests performed, which mean very little to the average person. Most reports may contain one or two recommendations for how to support the person after the assessment. Yours, however, contained a couple of pages of help and support. The report also seemed to have a caring element to it - again unlike most other reports which are very cold and clinical in their wording. Once again I thank you for your time and effort. This has made a big difference to how my son now views his problem. He feels less embarrassed because he knows he has a specific problem and that he is not just "stupid" as he has referred to himself in the past. I received your report on Saturday and that was the first time I have ever seen him smile and not feel embarrassed when his problem was discussed.
